Modern computerised
vehicles require state-of-the-art dual battery
management systems that automatically monitor the voltage and isolate spikes
to ensure adequate protection of the electrical systems.
Both the DBS and IBS
Battery Management Systems supplied by TJM offer this protection.
WHICH IS THE CORRECT
BATTERY TO USE
There are basically two
types of batteries suitable for dual battery systems:
STARTER BATTERIES:
Designed for high current
discharge but adequately cater for most situations. Recommended for starting
vehicles and winching operations.
DEEP CYCLE BATTERIES:
Designed for low current
discharge over a long period of time. These batteries should not be used as
starter batteries but are recommended for running refrigerators, camping
lights, air compressors, etc.
DUAL
BATTERY SYSTEMS REQUIRE THE FOLLOWING:
-
A quality battery
management system.
-
A battery mounting frame
-
An appropriate battery
-
A power outlet
